Sneaky

Y'know how a little while ago I mentioned that my characters tend to do things without permission?
It happened again.
Although, this time I can't tell, if it was me having an unexpected idea, or my character saying, "Hey, I wanna do this!"
All I know is that I finally figured out how to hint at a romance between a couple side characters, and suddenly my protagonist is deciding she wants to investigate to see if it's real.  Like I said, I can't quite figure out if that was me, or her.  Maybe we both just got the idea at the same time and were grinning conspiratorially at each other without realizing it. ;)

There are many problems as far as winter goes.  It's cold; it's wet; you can't drive; it gets slippery.  Still, there are certain advantages to winter.  There are few things more enjoyable than walking and just having the snowflakes land in you mouth. :)  Or enjoying a warm cup of hot chocolate.  Mmmm!  Love my hot chocolate.
I have to say, though, one of my favorite parts of winter is coming home from the bus stop and seeing the perfectly untouched, seemingly unending white.  Also, I love having the privilege of being the first to slog my way through all that beautiful snow.
And then coming home to have hot chocolate. ;)

New Shakespeare

Well, I started my new Shakespeare class today, and I have to say I think I'll enjoy it.  I'm definitely sad to say good-bye to my old class, and my professor, but I do have one of my old classmates in this new class, and the new professor seems very passionate about the subject, so I think I'll get along well in this class. 
So, pros of the new class: Large class, so I actually feel more comfortable commenting.  I think in a smaller class it's a bit intimidating, since participating regularly allows people to make judgements about you and reinforce those judgements.  In a large class, people can and will forget about you seconds after your comment was made.
Cons of the new class: Late in the day.  I hate classes that start late.  I feel like I have none of my day left afterward.
So, here's hoping I will enjoy this class, as well as hoping my old professor will recover quickly!  I look forward to spending time in England with her next year, since, if all goes well, she'll be one of the professors heading the study abroad!

Spontuneous

So, my family has recently discovered an amazing new game called "Spontuneous."  It's actually really quite simple.  What happens is each player writes down a few words, each from a different song, and tries to see if anyone can sing a five-word portion of a song containing that word.  If they guess it, they roll the dice and move.  If they don't, you roll.  The catch is, if you don't actually have a song to back that word up, you have to move back six spaces.  It's a lot of fun, especially in a family that is obsessed with music (mine all the way). 
Is it bad that I feel proud I won the first two games?

Gold

 So, have you ever heard a song that reminded you of someone, and it made you laugh because it really didn't fit with that person, but in a highly ironic way it really did? 
Yeah, a little confusing.  My point being, I recently bought an Owl City song called "Gold," and for some reason it reminds me to no end of Rumplestiltskin from Once Upon a Time.  I mean, I know why it reminds me of him, ("Gold," Mr. Gold), but it just doesn't fit all that well, unless it was an encouragement video for our favorite magical dealer. 
'Kay, I'm doing an awful job explaining, so I'll just post a couple videos that would hopefully get the point across.

Fog

So, we've been having kinda crazy weather over here.  First we got freezing rain, which we NEVER get.  I was ice-skating across campus!  Then, thanks to the ice melting, last night we had the worst fog I have seen in a long time.  It was so bad that when we drove home from fencing last night, we could barely see in front of us (us including myself, Kay, and Mia).  We ended up having Mia stick her head out the window so she could see a bit better and tell us where we were going.  We also turned up the music and rolled down the windows so those we may be coming up on could hear us, since it was kinda hard to see us. ;)
When we finally got home, we ended up going outside and getting pics of the fog, since Kay is in a photo class and wanted to work with her amazing new camera!  It was intense, all the lamp posts looked like the will 'o the wisps from Brave.  It was the perfect weather for some wizard to come walking out of the mist!  Didn't happen, but it still would have been cool.

A New Friend

So, today was interesting... Kay invited me to be in a writers' group with her, and I we were gonna meet at the city library.  Problem was, I didn't know where the library was.  Before you get on my case, this isn't the city I grew up in, this is the city right next to it, and I had absolutely no idea where the library was. 
That was okay, though, because Mom had grown up in this city, and she knew where it was.  So she and a family friend helped me figure out which bus to take to get to the library, since my car is currently uninsured.
But then I got off at the wrong stop.  Downtown.  Little scary there...  Luckily, I was next to the high school, and a couple students gave me directions.  They said I should just keep going straight. 
Except, I was, and then I didn't see a library, and I was starting to freak out.  So when I spotted another student, I asked directions again.  Then she said she was going to the library too!  What a relief!
So I finally got to the writers' group.  At first it was silent, since we were all reading each others stories.  But then when we finished, we were giving critiques and things, and it was great!  And then we decided to get lunch, since we were all starving.
And I decided I really like Kay's friend Ash.  She's a Whovian!  And a Potterhead!  She's a Slytherin on Pottermore! (I'm a Ravenclaw, btw.)  And she's a Merlin fan!  And a Sherlock fan!  And a Once fan!
We had a lot to talk about.
So here's to kind students and new friends!
